Guess what day it is? National Hummus Day! And in celebration, I have the perfect snack for you. This avocado & hummus bagel recipe was born from tasting a similar menu item during Toledo’s Restaurant Week. However, I’ve added my own kick (one of the many benefits of making homemade meals/snacks)!

This recipe calls for Everything Bagels, but you can use your favorite toast instead if you’d prefer. It also calls for Sabra’s Supremely Spicy Hummus, but any of their flavors would substitute well. 

Some of the benefits of this recipe are that it takes just minutes to whip up and that it’s actually quite filling thanks to the fiber and fats. Give it a go and let me know what you think in the comments!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Toast your bagel or bread
  2. Spread each half with Sabra’s Supremely Spicy Hummus (or other flavor)
  3. Slice avocado in half, remove pit, and the slice lengthwise (see video for more details on properly slicing an avocado)
  4. Place sliced avocado on top of bagel with hummus spread
  5. Drizzle with lime juice
  6. Sprinkle cumin and salt over top
